The idea
Elegoo PETG is the step up from PLA when you need parts that survive heat, sunlight, or real-world stress — brackets, enclosures, outdoor fixtures, food-contact-adjacent items. Tougher than PLA, more forgiving than ABS, prints without an enclosure on most modern printers.

Printing Notes
Start at 240°C / 75°C bed. PETG strings more than PLA — bump retraction to 4–6mm (direct drive) or 6–8mm (Bowden) and slow travel a bit. Use a glue stick or PEI release agent on smooth PEI; PETG bonds aggressively to bare glass and uncoated PEI and can pull chunks off the bed.
Storage
PETG is hygroscopic. Store sealed with desiccant. If you hear popping or see bubbles/stringing on a previously fine roll, dry at 65°C for 6 hours.
